Chesapeake Bay View

Living Floor

porch and dogsThe Chesapeake Bay View has a total of 3,600 sq ft of living space on two floors. There are hardwood floors throughout, as well as the original plaster walls, ten foot ceilings and large windows to let the sun shine through. Ceiling fans are still prominent in many rooms, but the house is now centrally air conditioned for those hot August summer days. High speed wireless Internet is available throughout the house and outside grounds.

The Living Floor begins at the impressive original entrance and its wide stairway to the Guest Rooms on the second floor. The french doors to the left of the entrance open into a 29 ft by 18 ft Living Room with comfortable couches and chairs, a 47 inch HD TV with 150+ Channels of entertainment, and bookcase with games and books. French doors connect to the Sun Room on the north side of the house. More casual furniture provides some respite around a second fireplace (no longer useable) that once kept recent owners warm in the winter when it was too expensive to heat the huge house.

The french doors on the right open into a large Dining Room with period table and chairs and a chandelier that dates to 1927 when the house was built. The dining table comfortably seats eight, and once had a button on the floor under the table to call the servants to serve dinner.

The Dining Room leads into the Butlers Pantry with a breakfast area that seats four, and then to a modern kitchen .
